Hainan Airlines Launches Direct Vienna to Chengdu Flights at €89!

Starting December 1, Hainan Airlines will launch its Vienna ⇌ Chengdu international route, further expanding China-Europe air connections. Direct Vienna to Chengdu Flights.

This new route marks Hainan Airlines’ second direct flight from Vienna to China, following the Vienna-Shenzhen route, and is the first international outbound route from Chengdu (Tianfu) by Hainan Airlines since the pandemic. This connection offers more options for travelers between Europe and China, strengthening the Belt and Road partnership between China and Austria and elevating the friendly strategic relationship to new heights.

The Vienna-Chengdu route will operate three times a week, with round-trip flights scheduled every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. The outbound flight will depart Vienna International Airport at 12:30 p.m. local time, arriving at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport at 5:10 a.m. Beijing time the next day, with a flight duration of approximately 9 hours and 40 minutes. The return flight departs Chengdu at 2:45 a.m. Beijing time, reaching Vienna at 6:05 a.m. local time, with an estimated flight duration of 10 hours and 20 minutes. Vienna Airport is enthusiastic about this new connection. Board member Julian Jäger stated that adding this direct Chengdu route, alongside the existing Shenzhen service, is a significant step in restoring direct flights between Vienna and China.
